SQT Bio-Microneedling FAQ’s

The siliceous Bio-Microneedles (spongilla spicules) are extracted from a freshwater sponge making this treatment completely natural, with no needles, device or added acids and chemicals.
Clinical results are exceeding expectations, with one treatment being equivalent to 3-5 traditional microneedling applications.

A course of 6 - 12 consecutive treatments for aging intervention. Some people may find they need more sessions, based on factors like smoking, age, and poorer health. Treatments can be done 1 to 3 times per week,with a non treatment day between sessions.

A difference can be seen during the 1st treatment! After the first half of your face is treated, we'll pause to point out the changes. The most significant changes occur around the 4th-6th treatment. Photos are taken at the 1st, 6th, and 12th session.

Expect 2 to 4 sessions for optimal results. Some small areas may need only one. Sessions are spaced 8 to 12 weeks apart to allow full collagen remodeling.

Results build over 8 to 12 weeks and can last 2 to 3 years with good home care, sun protection and healthy habits.

Day 0 to 3: swelling and heat sensation, especially around eyes
Days 3 to 7 (face): tiny carbon crusts flake off on their own
Up to 10 days (body): crusting lasts longer on thicker skin
Redness/pinkness: may linger 2 to 6+ weeks
Make-up once crusts have naturally shed, usually day 5 to 7.
Strict no picking, no hot yoga, saunas or heavy sweating for 72 hours.
SPF50 daily and avoid sun while pink.

Please follow these cut-offs to protect your skin and results. If in doubt, ask.
Prescription retinoids (tretinoin, adapalene, tazarotene): stop 10 to 14 days prior
Retinol/retinal OTC: stop 5 to 7 days prior
AHAs/BHAs/enzymes/benzoyl peroxide/vitamin C acids: stop 5 to 7 days prior
Waxing/threading/depilatory creams in area: stop 7 days prior
Electrolysis: stop 10 days prior
IPL/laser hair removal in area: stop 4 weeks prior
Spray tan/self-tan: stop 10 to 14 days prior and ensure no residual DHA on the day
Excess sun or sunburn: avoid 4 weeks prior
Skin needling/micro-needling: allow 2 to 4 weeks before fibroblast
Chemical peels: light peels 2 weeks, medium/deeper peels 4 to 6 weeks before
Laser: non-ablative 4+ weeks; ablative 3 to 6 months before
Botox/anti-wrinkle: schedule fibroblast 2+ weeks after injections
Dermal fillers: schedule fibroblast 4 to 6+ weeks after filler in the area
Antibiotics that increase photosensitivity: finish course 2 weeks before
Isotretinoin (Roaccutane/Accutane): wait 12 months after completion

Absolutely - great skin prep equals great results. We recommend supporting your skin with LED Light Therapy, Vitamin A serum and Vitamin C serum for 2 to 4 weeks prior to your treatment. This strengthens your skin, boosts collagen response and reduces downtime.

Post-care essentials
Keep the area clean and dry for the first 24 hours then follow your tailored aftercare
Use the clinic-provided soothing/antimicrobial gel and barrier balm as directed
No acids, retinoids or actives until cleared by your therapist, usually 14 to 21 days
Mineral make-up only after crusts shed
Daily SPF50, reapply if outdoors
Optional LED add-on accelerates recovery and calms swelling

We use a topical anaesthetic to keep you comfortable. Expect a quick, warm “spark” sensation.

A visible tightening effect can show once the crusts shed. Best results appear as new collagen matures over 12 weeks.

Active eczema, psoriasis, infection, cold sores in the area
History of keloid scarring or poor wound healing
Uncontrolled diabetes, bleeding disorders or on strong anticoagulants
Very recent sunburn or tanning
Fitzpatrick IV to VI or melasma require careful assessment due to PIH risk. We may prep skin first or suggest alternatives like Jet Plasma, microcurrent or peels.

Yes, with timing. We often pair Plasma Fibroblast with LED, gentle enzyme resurfacing and microcurrent in the months that follow to support healing and lift. We’ll map the sequence for you.
